The following are the minutes for the monthly meeting of North Okaloosa Cert.
Absent was Phil and Mark so the second part of map course training was delayed until next month. The fall basic course was cancelled since we only had four people show up to the Friday night class out of 14 that signed up. Rob & Terry showed up a little late since they were at the Crestview City Council Special meeting creating recognition for our group and it's contribution to the hurricane Michael response efforts. Dale has been involved in a group called Crowdsourcerescue.com They are organizing relief efforts for Hurricane Michael. Mary Bell volunteered to be our CERT representative in the EOC the next time we have an emergency so we have eyes and ears in there and are not left in the dark and uninformed and misinformed and under-utilized. We have been asked to help supply volunteers for shepherding at the railroad crossing for the veterans day parade on November 12th. Meet up time is 9am but the parade starts at 10. We are also driving Rob's truck and trailer in the parade to help fly the CERT flag to promote community awareness. Dale and Chris will be helping NOARC. Mary Bell, Terry, Carol, and Rob will be in the parade. Mary Bell wrote a short article for the Crestview News Bulletin. We also discussed how to get funded for future projects. Rob will provided letter to give to store owners the give all our groups necessary information. End of meeting.

25JUN2018 General Meeting Called to order at 7pm Treasurer’s Report: We currently have $24 in petty cash and $78.13 in the bank. We really need to find a way to improve this balance, so we have money for supplies and ongoing training opportunities. If any of our members have any fundraising ideas or know of any opportunities to raise more funds, we would love to hear from you at our next meeting. You may also submit any of your ideas via email or Fb messenger. HAM Radio Class So far we have 5 members that have expressed interest in obtaining their HAM radio license. We are hoping that if we can get a large enough group together, that NOARC will do a class just for the CERT team. Please contact Rob if this is something that would interest you. nokaloosacert@gmail.com Northwest Florida Vol Firefighter Weekend Firefighter weekend is around the corner!
