HOW DO I JOIN?
The first step to joining North Okaloosa CERT is completing the Basic Course. This twenty-hour course teaches you the basics of triage and first aid, light search and rescue, light firefighting, incident command, and other vital skills for becoming part of a CERT unit.

WHEN IS THE NEXT BASIC COURSE?
April 22-23 and 29-30, 2023
The Saturday classes will run from 9 am - 5 pm and Sunday classes run from 1 pm - 5 pm on Sundays.
IMPORTANT: You must attend all classroom sessions and exercises to complete the course!

Please complete the FEMA Intro to CERT online course and bring certificate to your first class.

CAN I TRANSFER MY CERT TRAINING FROM ANOTHER LOCATION?
Yes! If you have already completed the Basic Course anywhere in the United States, that training is entirely portable and we'll be glad to have you! Email proof of course completion (scan of certificate, note from CERT team leader, etc) to nokaloosacert@gmail.com and we can get you credentialed for Okaloosa County.

FEMA Online CoursesIn addition to your in-person CERT training, you can find training materials on all sorts of topics at the FEMA website. IS-317, Intro to CERT is a great way to learn more about CERT before the Basic Course. All FEMA courses require a FEMA student ID, which can be obtained for free at this website.
